Level 3 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Welcome to the first unit of this course! We are going to hit the ground running in this unit. 

We'll begin by reflecting on your motivations for training to be a TEFL teacher. Then, we'll spend some time looking at the history of English Language Teaching and how methods of teaching have changed over the years. Finally, we'll end by exploring the current EFL landscape - if you haven't already, you can start thinking about the environment in which you'd like to teach. We'll give you some recommendations for job sites too, so you can start your research early if you'd like. 

Each unit of the course will end with some further reading suggestions. Often, there will be some optional videos for you to watch too. You must then take the end of unit test before moving on to the next unit.
